For Susan Warner Keene, the sheet of paper remains a privileged material in terms of creation, invention and communication between humans. As for linen, she uses it as much to create the surface as to draw the line. She also recognizes that the material has great versatility and a certain heritage value: the paper that is made from it receives the writing useful for transmitting knowledge; in its textile form, it has been in intimate relationship with the body, from birth to death, and has been for millennia. The artist also maintains that the paper made from flax fiber resembles skin and that sometimes it gives the impression of breathing…
