Telos Art Publishing, a British publisher specializing in contemporary textile art, published in 2009 a book devoted to the work of twenty important Canadian artists who have developed a very personal language through their mastery of one or more of the various techniques in the field of textiles. The artists represented in the book are:
Jennifer Angus, Ingrid Bachmann, Sandra Brownlee, Dorothy Caldwell, Lyn Carter, Kai Chan, Barb Hunt, Susan Warner Keene, Barbara Layne, Louise Lemieux Bérubé, Marcel Marois, Mindy Yan Miller, Lesley Richmond, Ruth Scheuing, Joanne Soroka, Joanna Staniszkis, Patrick Traer, Barbara Todd, Laura Vickerson, and Yvonne Wakabayashi.
With over 260 colour photographs, 192 pages, up-to-date artists’ biographies and statements, and introductory essays by: Alan C. Elder, Curator of Canadian Craft and Design at the Canadian Museum of Civilization; Sandra Alfoldy, PhD, Associate Professor of Craft History at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design; J.R. Carpenter, independent writer and media artist originally from Nova Scotia, now based in Montreal; Lisa Vinebaum, interdisciplinary artist and theorist based in Montreal.
